benweblight
Hi all, I am trying to to find some of the 5 pin din locking bleecon style connectors to repair our ageing furse system. Anyone know where I can buy these, if they are still made? Have searched but no luck.
tokm
Tried RS or CPC? Perhaps AC? Their the 3 most likely places that spring to mind for rare connectors, specially CPC.. Failing that, drill out the connectors, fit 5pin XLR panel connectors (male or female wouldn't matter, your choice) and get some fully wired 5pin XLR cables from somewhere like Usedlighting? And knock up a 5pin bleecon to 5pin XLR to go from your desk or demux or whatever you use to control the dimmers usually. HTH. Tom
bruce
Are you sure you mean Bleecon? Although some unusual Bleecons were made, virtually all that I've seen have been 8 pin. The "locking DIN" plugs are also sometimes known as "preh" connectors. They're available from all the usual suspects.
benweblight
bruce, well it looks extremely like a bleecon and id guess has the same locking system, tokm, good idea I may end up doing that if I cant track them down to illustrate- http://www.ukslc.org/forum/index.php?actio...tach=2148;image
bruce
Yup - that's certainly a bleecon! Never seen a 5 pin one before... You could just use a standard DIN connector - it will mate, but not lock. Actually that's not strictly true - a flying DIN plug or socket will mate with any bleecon , but a "flying" bleecon plug will not go onto a chassis DIN, cos the bleecon shroud prevents it going fully home.
