tlc
Title says it all really Looking to buy a hazer and considering these two. Not used either tho so anyone out there got an opinion. No residue is a BIG issue as we have data projection in the venue that needs to stay clean (as well as movers) assume both of these are relatively clean according to specs but are they really. gareth
Definitely the Unique - it's a truly excellent piece of kit.
Bryson
I was about to say that the Unique is definitely better, but I've just checked the MVS and they appear to have solved a lot of the issues I had with the original Neutrons. I have bought Uniques in the past and they are excellent. Although:90 degree electronically variable haze output directionLooks intriguing. In my opinion, the Unique 1>Unique 2, but they don't make them anymore! I have no problems with residue with my Unique 2, or in fact the hire Neutrons that I've had. Either is pretty clean. StevieR
Can't comment on the new MVS system but we've been using the Neutron XS Hazers for some time now. Reliability has been excellent and no obvious residue - apart from the usual dribbles around the nozzle. Steve
Toxopholist
Hi there, from a projectionists point of view I wouldnt worry too much, unless you have something fairly high end with sealed optics the projector is going to suck up any particulates in the air, oil or sugar based, and depending on the cooling and air distribution it will hurl it around the casing and over the optics... I have to say looking at the neutron MVS datasheet I would be a little concerned about spraying someething sugar based into a hot projector, but I guess no one will really know the effect until we have empirical evidence, what sugar will do on hot optics. I would worry more about keeping the haze away from the projector. HTH Charlie
Robe575xt
I am also on the look out for x2 new hazers for my new workplace, so intresting topice for me. I have been looking at eith the Neutron MVS or the Jem offering, never used unique products before but I've used the Neutron XS hazers before and they are nice bits of kit, no residue problems, tho as mentioned the dribbling around the nozzel, but nothing a well placed beer tray couldn't solve. dave singleton
Having used both I would recomend the MVS. The MVS offers alot of flexability for such a small unit. Its been very cleverly designed most likely with the input of many LD's, set designers and stage crew etc. Its worth Noting the MVS isnt really in many ways comparible to the Neutron XS. If your interested in a trial run on a MVS we have some available to hire in our hire stock. Follow the link in my sig.
LampieManPro
Both the MVS and Neutron use the same fluid dont they?? The MVS has remote control of the nozzle pitch meening you can spray straight out, right through to vertical. If you place the machine on its bracket therefore it being on its side it will of cause spray left to right on a horizontal plane. Ive used all the machines outlined in this topic, and each one has its pros and cons, I would personaly go for the unique as it has onboard DMX, compared to the Neutron which doesnt. The MVS has DMX but for what its worth the Neutron does a better job from what ive found
