Hi,

I'm just playing about on the download of Grand MA 3d, I've got all my set in place and have added a couple of movers, but how do I control them? I cannot seem to get the visualisation to work so I can set lighting states on screen.

Thanks,

Daniel

Need a bit more info to help out. Is your 3d computer connected to a console, or to the onPC software on the same (or other) computer?

How is your networking setup? both physical and ip addresses and the like?

Have you created a session on one and then joined the other to the same session?

I recently ran onPC, GrandMA 3D and a GrandMA console with the two software packages on different laptops. One the networking is all setup it all works perfectly, really easy and great results.

Hi,

Yep,

Thanks,

Daniel

One little thing that tripped me up was to select the onPC and 3D software to use the loopback interface, ie ip 127.0.0.1, this ensures that onPC and 3D are not expecting to talk to one another via your network card.

Once both onPC and 3D are running, and looking at their local loopback ip (127.0.0.1) then you will need to start a session on one of them. Once the session is started then you should be able to see the other and invite it to join the session.

For the 3D you can select which ip to use when you use the desk connection dialogue to setup the session. On the onPC you need to look in the MA network config in the tools menu. Choose to use the loopback interface (127.0.0.1) instead of the ethernet (which will have a different IP), I cant remember precisley how to do it.

It was about a month ago now that I used the system, and as I say, I didnt use it quite like this (I had a console and 2 laptops). Therefore this is a bit of a guess at how to do it. I wouldnt have thought it would be too hard to get it working though, its a pretty simple and easy system.

I hope this helps, at least a little.

Hi,

Right, I have the two programmes connected now, how do I add fixtures and control them in Grand MA 3D? I've tried the manual, and failed.

Thanks,

Daniel

Fantastic,

The fixtures that you add from the onPC should automatically appear on the 3D display (if it is in play mode) and then when it is moved via the onPC control itshould move on teh screen.

You need to add fixtures to onPC, just like you would with a console. You should be able to follow how to do this from the manual. It is the exact same process as on any of the consoles.

Hi,

When I add fixtures in grand ma on pc, they don't appear in the 3d, or vica versa. Also, I have no idea how to control them off Grand MA on PC, the interface is a bit confusing to me, having never used a grand ma before.

Thanks,

Daniel
