Opinions on Sennheiser E609 & E906

Hi

Am wondering if any of you have any experience in using either the Sennheiser Evolution 609 or new 906 on guitar cabs. Mainly use beta57's at the moment but am looking into the possibility of getting one of the above as dedicated guitar cab mic. Already have a E901 for kick and am quite impressed with it!

We had one of the E609's predecessors, the MD509, at the studio for a while and I was never a big fan. However, one of the other engineers used it extensively to produce some good sounding recordings so it is very much down to personal taste.

 

One of my favourite guitar amp mics was actually an earpiece from a set of old Sennheiser HD400 headphones.
