benscrawford Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 Another moving light with a tungsten source not mentioned so far is the Strand Pirouette, which is a 2/2.5kw Alto PC (I believe you can put a fresnel lens in) bolted into a yoke which when combined with a colour scroller (so getting exact colours, such as L201) can make a very useful addition to a rig when hung in appriopate places (the zoom is controllable from the desk so you could use it as a tight special or part of a general cover wash). True, though when asked to do anything other than dim, it makes an awful racket! So maybe more suited to musicals and the like where the background noise is sufficient to disguise the sound of the beast that is a Pirouette - a moving light that in my mind is by all means an extremely useful one!
gareth Posted July 29, 2008 Posted July 29, 2008 the lovely Mick HughsMick is indeed a lovely chap, who shares the same surname as me - and I'm sure he'd be equally at pains to point out that there's an 'e' in it ...
LXbydesign Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Oooops , im sorry Gareth!! I was pondering " to e or not to e", and then decided to leave it out!!
