Hi

Does anyone know the pin wiring digram for a 4 pin lemo? Its to be used for a guitar wireless pack on a BeyerDynamic VHF unit - unfortunately I don't haven't the model number. I've searched Google and the Beyer website but cannot find anything to help.

Also can anyone suggest a suitable cable for this application? The cpc catalogue is quite difficult to navigate - could someone provide a link to the cable?

Many thanks

Sim,

This page from Trantec's website may help too: Lemo Wiring.

It'd be presumptious to suggest Beyer and Trantec use the same pinout, but there's a chance that someone in their design departments did the right thing...

Ground to Pin 1, Signal to Pin 4 is where I'd start.

Regarding cable, just normal single screen guitar cable, thin enough to go inside the Lemo chuck (you can get different sizes of the cable chuck for Lemo OB series connectors - see RS online - Part No. 215-6004 I think, but do check), and a nice Neutrik jack on the other end.

Good luck. Pete.

Thanks Pete. I found that page earlier today when I was searching the net. I did'nt quite understand it though, so thanks for clearing that up. Thanks for the information about the different size chucks - thats really helpful.

Just one more question; I have got a small amount of microphone cable which is about the right size for the chuck which was supplied with the Lemo connector. I was thinking of using one core for the signal and leaving one core unconnected and of course connecting the ground.Would that work ok?

Many Thanks

That would be fine. Just cut it off as short as you can so it can't touch any of the other pins inside the connector. Lemo connectors are horrors to wire - you need a fine soldering iron and a steady hand!

I don't know about the newer stuff, but the older beyer radio kit was made by trantec. I have both. They look identical, the mics work with either, and if you pull a beyer apart it says trantec on the pcbs!
