Andrew C Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Just a quick one. Ordered a second hand Act 3, and I'm thinking now about how to connect it up. :) It is only (at the moment) going to be used for a couple of 2k followspots. So, without resorting to widow-makers, can it be run as two separate devices? Long term I will be putting in a decent supply, but this could save me some work in the short term run-up to Panto time.
Ike Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 IIRC you will have difficulty avoiding commoning the neutrals however it should be simple to wire up for two separate live (phase, active, whatever) conductors. I have done it before as part of a temporary install but can't remember exactly what we did, I have a feeling we opted for taping the plugs into the distro and putting a very clear warning notice on them. Obviously the control measures would have to be relevant to the experience of the crew who have access to it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
