Free Software for Sound Effect Playback

Hi guys,

 

I know this has been a topic of much discussion recently, and im aware we have our own software writer on the board, but has anyone got any reccommendations for Sound Effects playback for Theatre? (Free Software).

If theres another thread somewhere like this, then feel free to point me in the correct direction- I did search, but not much useful came up.

I typed sound effects playback into the search box and it did wonders............

If you look at the current front page of the Sound section (where your posting), you will see there is a thread from a software developer offering free software, currently a mere 7 threads below this one. Not sure if thats what you refer to in your post, but as you will of probably seen if you've read the post I would recommend it.

 

There is also quite a bit of info in the FAQ pinned at the top of this page. Also as Paul suggests the search function on here is very powerful if you give it the right input! I managed to find all that in less time than it took to write this post, it's a hard life we have in the Blue Room! :)

Soundplant - have used for broadcast, loved it so much have paid for it....

 

Free software is great, but occasionally it's nice to reward those who have helped my life.

Right...considering how many times this has been discussed in the BR and how many hints there are for finding previous threads, I think I'll close this one.
