Insert Cables

Hmmmm..... (tm Ynot)

Looking thru the CPC catalogue, and searching online (never the easiest thing to do with CPC!) I can find NO reference to any insert cables.... You know - 3 pole jack cabled to two 2-pole jacks for inserting FX etc on the insert of a mixer...

I need 8 for next month's panto, and was expecting this fairly standard bit of leadage to be pretty much easy to find and add to my (growing) CPC order....

Obviously not! ;)

Anyone got any other ideas what CPC may have called this one??

I'd rather not have to go elsewhere and pay another load of carriage costs if I can help it!

May end up making these up at this rate.... :(

This one? ;)

You owe me a Hmmmm !

I searched for: "audio jack 6.5 stereo" which narrowed it down enough. Quite agree it's a difficult site to search though. But Canford has to be worse. :(

Without wanting to advertise... if you cant find anything in our book or online drop me a PM or email and I will sort it for you.

As you are probably aware insert leads can be used for more applications than just fx inserts - this will be the reason the audio guy has not listed them under "insert leads". I will see if I can amend something on the system.

With regrads to our website - there will be a whole new product structure online in the new year .. the products will appear in a similar order to the catalogue.

Woo hoo! Thanks Mark! I can stow the soldering iron again for a while now!!

Now, if I could only find out whether those 3-pin DMX leads that are all marked as "Awaiting delivery" on-line will be actually available before my order comes out, I'll be laughing....!

We've had some reliability issues with the CPC cables - nothing that you wouldn't expect given the price - but if you are going to be gigging them heavily you may want to consider something else.

I've also used AV13744 for inserts, which are a little bit cheaper. That of course being the other big challenge with CPC, when you've found what you want, finding the cheapest one! :(
ta for that. I'll probably stick with the first ones though. They won't be gigged as such, just used in a theatre env, but I do know how poorly some am-dram techs can treat the gear! But saying that, don't want to spend too much because things can go missing....

So the original item found by Mark is a happy medium.

Cheers anyway, Peter.

The stock on our website is updated every four hours - however they need to show as free stock in our warehouse first. At the moment they are only showing as goods received but not available for sale.

Oh, dear.

Well, the accounts dept have struck again, Chris!

My current order (placed on Tuesday night for delivery this morning) was apparently stopped on Wednesday, with no obvious explanation. The e-mail I got just said it was on hold - contact the accounts dept......

When I called this morning (after getting no response from the initial e-mail) I found that I'd exceeded my account credit limit of £250. Now that might have held water EXCEPT that for my last 3 orders, two of them were also over £250, and they came through. (In several instalments, yes, but they went thru!).

I spoke with accounts and they did indeed up my limit (didn't actually find out to what, despite asking!) and said they'd dispatch for delivery tomorrow. OK - resolved, BUT I'm not around tomorrow. TODAY was when I wanted the delivery.

However, give the guy his due, he listened to my reasoning and finally agreed to get a dispatch for a Saturday am delivery (at no extra cost, though again I had to push for that courtesy).

So - situation resolved in the end (I hope) though several of the cables on the order are STILL showing as awaiting delivery , but my moan really at the moment is why a simple phone call couldn't have been made to sort out the issue? I had NO idea that I had such a low credit limit, and to be honest, can't find a reference to it anywhere on the invoices or statements from recent orders. And looking at the last year's orders, 7 in total, with 3 over £250....

Hi Ynot - I have noted your feedback and will pass it on. As I have mentioned before my responsibilities are purely to source products and sadly do not cover accounts, sales or returns. Please do not take this to me washing my hands of the situation - if you could send me your account number etc by PM or email I will ask somebody to look into this further.

Best Regards & "Festive Greetings" (the "pc" version of Happy Christmas!)
