Recently aquired a Strand GSX console.

Been looking at the settings on the set up screen.

There are 2 settings, Trig time and trig date.

What are these used for?

Can`t find any reference to them in the manual :(

As far as I am aware, although I could be wrong, I think they are trigger dates and times for the timecode....

I'd be tempted to leave them well alone!!! (unless of course your running time code)

I might be very wrong, haven't used a GSX for about 5 years (moved onto 520I's)

Look again Gerry - once you notice that there are actually THREE settings - Trig time, Trig date and Macro - then their purpose should be blindingly obvious!

ie selected macro is triggered at the date and time you have set.

I've only used a GSX three times and never played with these settings but I've just confirmed this behaviour using the Genius Off-line Editor.

Thanks for the info.

yes it is ` blindingly obvious!` when you know what it is

Wher do you get the Genius Off-line Editor from?

Looked on the Strand website but couldn`t find it.

Searched the Blue room archives but the links on there don`t apear to exist :(

Cheers

The off-line editor seemed to disappear without trace - I think someone either here or on rec.arts.theatre.stagecraft emailed it to me sometime ago but I've forgottom where it came from. If you send me a personal message with an email address then I'll zip up what I have and send it to you. It's only about 500KB.

Regards
