paulears
I'm not certain that setting research outside the capabilities of the students is sound practice - I'm not sure this kind of research is relevent to Bloom's work - certainly not when used in the conventional sense. The most basic of his constructs - the knowledge element, does assume a level of understanding, and the ability to remember the information. In this example, people are collecting huges amounts of data - just look at this thread alone, but it just gets regurgitated and handed in, grade given, then forgotten. As such a total waste of time. Renny
Personally I just can't stop grinning at the idea of Howard Harrison actually touching a lighting board!
Tomo
In fact Tomo had already answered the question in another thread. And had Tomo said that, I would have kept my mouth shut ;)Well, thanks. I just get very irritated by people asking a question, and then asking it again, and again, without waiting for a reply. To me that implies that you aren't actually interested in learning, and that you probably want a glib phrase to pass on to someone. I'm always happy to explain things to people, but if you actually want an answer then it would be nice for you to wait a reasonable time before repeating the question. On an online forum, twenty minutes isn't exactly reasonable - you can be on hold to your local cable telephone company for longer than that! If you don't understand an answer or you'd like more details, then ask for clarification! I'm happy to explain further or to try to find another way of saying it to help you understand. However, I don't have infinite patience, and the excessive number of "Help me with my coursework!" type questions that have recently turned up on the Blue Room has sorely tried it. Leggy
as for the ld building the front truss, this does happen quite regularly with hands-on ld's on rock and roll (for want of a better phrase) tours.its because the front truss is a self contained unit away from the mayhem on stage during the load-in, so rigging this frees up the lighting crew to deal with the ususally more complex work on-stage. leggy
