pcu4jb@leeds.ac.uk
I am doing a SOLO platform piece, with low budget.I want to use REAL water to show the effect of rain. I just want it to 'rain' on my character and not the entire stage. Can anyone help?
Tomo
I don't think there are any venues at Leeds or Bretton that can really cope with water on stage - the Riley most certainly cannot, and the small box venues attached to the English dept can't either. So check with the venue technicians before attempting this. However, if such a thing is permitted, the easiest way would be to use a garden hose spray rigged above you, spraying down onto yourself. You will need something to catch the water, and you CANNOT allow any water to come into contact with ANY equipment whatsoever. CHECK WITH THE VENUE FIRST I'm putting a lot of emphasis on this because I was bitten by a lovey type saying "Small amount of water" which turned out to mean "drench the stage"The protection we had was insufficient to the task - it was ok for what was used at dress rehearsal, but not the performance. Seano
Its doable, but:with low budget.makes it seem *very* unlikely to actually happen. Soz. Out of interest, are you planning to move about while its raining, or stay on one spot?
