JohnPartridge
Hi all, I am sure I will get a good reply to this. I must say firstly , I am only used to busking a show, so this may be the reason why I dont know the answer. Say I have a few attributes programmed, (positions) etc , how do I programme cues so that when I have finished a cue , the Robes will move to the next cue position, with shutter closed, ready to open on next cue. Currently when busking when I move onto the next submaster the Robes , open shutter then move to position. Sorry if I havent explained very well, but hopefully someone will understand  Thanks John Partridge
peter
Hi John You don't mention which console you're using. This will really help us in giving you an accurate reply - some consoles support Auto Move Whilst Dark, which allow you to just turn the setting on and away you go - other consoles require you to program preset cues (Mark cues) which will preset the fixtures but obviously takes a bit longer to program. So, what desk is it?
Tomo
The essence of the idea is that you create a cue that contains all the new positions, colour and beamshaping, but with intensity at zero.Every other light in the rig is unchanged - this is the big bonus of tracking desks as you don't have to specifically record this. This cue gets run at some point before the cue that brings up the intensities. Many moving light aware desks allow this cue to be automatically generated, either by creating a specific marking cue (eg Hog 2, Eos), or by allowing currently dark fixtures to run the attributes of the next cue to happen when the previous cue occurs (eg Strand 500 series, Congo) But without knowing which console, we can't help any more than that! JohnPartridge
Hi, thanks for the replys so far, sorry I realised I should have said what desk I was using. Its a mixture of a Pearl and the Azures. Hopefully this should help you, help me. Many ThanksJohn Partridge
niclights
Some fixtures have a 'blackout while moving' user setting. Otherwise you could program in the Pearl as an unlinked chase - ie. step one is position, step two is shutter/dimmer open, step three position, step four shutter/dimmer open etc. You can make this neater by editing through [unfold] and linking/unlinking specific parts with timing delays to account for the movement speed. To move to the next step of an unlinked chase you can either use the relevant PB Add button or the [go] button if connected. HTH
Tom R
On some desks (such as the Pearl) if you are running the playbacks on the playback faders, by raising the fader to about 10% all attributes will come into place except the dimmer command, but obviously you dont want to get this wrong! Also, if you just want the fixtures to move to the position and then come up without any further buttons/faders, then you can time how long the fixtures take to move and set the HTP delay to that time, thus delaying the dimmer attribute until the fixtures are in place. I hope that makes sense...
niclights
To refine that a little further, LTP values will snap (if memory is in mode 0) when the fader reaches the on value defined in user settings (default is 2%)There is also a function called 'memory preload' where you can drop the master fader and hit the relevant PB Add button. This will load in the LTP values even though the master fader is down (and therefore not flash the HTP dimmer live to stage). However, all of this requires manual control and if you did this you may as well have a fixture dimmer PB and have everything else on palettes. For it all to happen automatically chases, links and timing are the way to go.
