Showtec dimmer

Is it the same channel on each or different? If different it might be a faulty triac your dealer should be able to sort it.

If it's the same channel on each then it might be a batch or software problem - we also sell these units and whilst they are generally reliable we have had odd ones with software problems!

If you you don't get any sense form your dealer then PM me and I'll try and sort it for you with HighLite.

I second Brian here, The most likely "fault" is the channel set to switch mode. As far as I am aware, all Multidim packs can be set to switch.

I think you have got to press MODE to switch to the chase settings, and then several presses of MENU later, you will have a display along the lines of C1-d (Or in your case C1-s) use the up and down arrows to select.

On the ones I have you change the Switch/Dim mode as follows...

  • Press 'Mode' until the 'Receive' led lights (DMX Mode)
  • Press 'Menu' to go to the next menu item
  • Select the number of seperate DMX channels you want to use using the up and down arrow buttons. Normally 'CH:04'.
  • Press 'Menu' and using the arrow buttons select either 'S1oF' or 'S1on' - this is 'Switch Channel 1 On or Off'
  • Ditto for S2
  • And S3
  • And S4

I have just had a full compliment of 7 of showtec's 12ch dimmers for the theatre and 2 of the 4 ch dims in the dance studio installed and asside from slightiy dubious quality controll in thier manufacture leading to a few fault I have found them to me more than acceptable.

where else can you get 84 channles of dimming for around £7500. The way I look at it is the more repairs you do the longer they last as mostly you are taking care of QC issues.

As far as opperation goes I'm not seeing a great difference other than noise to the performance of any act6 or so.

I am in agreeance here I reckon you are set to switch somewhere along the line.
