Showtec Multidim randon chase function

Hey

I've just bought a Showtec multidim (IEC ver.) which seems to be a good little dimmer.

Had a search through this forum and, although this dimmer's mentioned a lot, I can't find anything about the random chase.

What's confusing me is that is says in the manual that came with it that you can set the pack to chase in a random sequence of all 16 chase programs, but it neglects to explain how. Had a fiddle and I can't seem to get it to do this.

Does anyone know how to?

Also, am I right in interpreting this (from the manual) "you may control the light output intensity through your DMX controller. 0 will give no output and 100 full output" to mean that if I send it a DMX value of 100 or greater then the channel is fully on, so you only dim from 0-100, rather than 0-255?

Thanks

Chris

I think that you'll find that the whole 0 - 100 thing is just plain bad England on the part of the translator... I think they mean 0% to 100%. Mine appear to have a resonable dimming curve over the full range.

Unfortunately with regard to the random chase, I've not heard of that one, but that's something I don't use!

Managed to work that one out

Good dimmer, useless manual then ;) it even tells me that I have green LEDs, when I'm fairly sure they're blue. They look cooler than green anyway.

For anyone's benefit:

To use the sound activated, make sure you're on chase mode, press the menu button 3 times and you're there. You have the same 16 chase sequences and they step on peaks on the microphone input, the LCD display shows SoXX where XX is the number of the chase sequence.

The mic was the giveaway for me...
