cknapper
How do everyone, Been trying to make an effect an easier way than recording a 12 part chase. The Effect Im trying to get is a white Chase stabbing in / out of a Colour wash, e.g I have a Blue wash with my 12 mac 300 I want then to have a single white chase going in and out of Random units, I know there is a Col fade Dym in the Desk but this only seems to dip the Col and not take this to Open White, Ive tried playing with the effect to make my own but with no joy, I would like this to happen with any wash on the stage I have so dont really want to do 10 or more chase's with diffrent Col wash's. Can anybody help or give me a beeter way of doing this. Thanking you in Advance Carlos
AndrewR
create a new effect, open the effects library in the browser, scroll to the bottom then hit insert, select the parameters box and hit modify. Now hit insert, select the attribute as cyan and the table as step. when you run this it will give you something close to the effect you want. unfortunately congo can't handle fx with negative sizes, or a semblance of randomness, that bit you will have to do yourself... ps, is it just me or is the manual awful? Sorry if this what you have done already.

Hi Andrew thanks for your responce, Yep tried this and it was the nearest I could get but it still doesnt go to open White. On the manual so so Ive been on the 2 day course with Jerry Roberts who is a great expert on this desk and he shows you easy wasys to do things, Well worth the £50 for anyone out there. dgray
Carlos - thanks for your question dynamic effects on congo are always added as a relative offset on top of the attribute value. This is powerful for pan and tilt effects relative to a base point which ius typically where they would start. if "blue" = cyan@100 and mag@100 a colour step dynamic will only step down to cyan@50 and mag@50 so I am afraid yes, you will need to manually make a step chase for your effect. if "blue" = cyan@50 and mag@50 the dynamic will step down to 0% as you wish. Andrew has already explained the steps to create a step dynamic only for cyan, if your blue includes magenta, insert a second parameter and set that to magenta, table=step. Try also experimenting with sawtooth and other tables, you may find another effect you had not expected which does the job. Adding dynamic effects on absolute rather than relative values is a feature we have identified for the wish list and this would achieve what you request - watch this space. A final point about the CONGO manual : it is updated and immediately available with every software release, its online in the console and easy to search, and for the international markets is available in English ,French, German, Italian....... One request for Andrew - contact Jeremy or myself directly with your ideas for making the manual better, maybe someone will answer your question the way you least expect. Hi thanks for that I knew the answer really before I posted the question but will sit down when the play has left the Venue and I get my Rock & Roll Rig back up. I agree the manual on the Congo has helped me out and the Favourite's in Help a genius idea. The only way to get your head around it for real, is for having someone to show you like on your training days, Cheers again Carlos P.S Ill keep my eye's Open for future updates.
