Brian
I need a recommendation on a mic. The background is that I have a pile of Audio Technica Pro4s which I use as my 'general purpose, don't mind too much if they get bashed' mics. The other night I had some out on stands for people to use for speech reinforcement. I noticed that some people struggled with the small on/off switch they have. So, I'm looking for suggestions for a cardioid dynamic vocal mic with a good, easy to see and use, switch which doesn't cost too much (think £30-£40 each). So far I've found the AT Pro 41 which looks like the newer version of my Pro 4s and the Sennheiser E825S (I already use E845s).
Simon Lewis
Brian, From memory, Audio Technica's Midnight Blues MB1000, 2000 & 3000 had quiet large reed operated switches. The MB3000 sounds quite good and is a chunky, solid mic. Simon
Solstace
A "me-too" on the Midnight-Blues MB3000 - not a bad mic at all for that kind of thing. :D C.
StevieR
Also, Shure PG58 (RRP - £49.50) and PG48 (RRP - £35.00). These also come with a lead. Steve
Brian
Just to bring closure to this thread.... in the end I bought some AT MB1000s. A pleasantly solid and nice looking mic with a big, smooth, on/off switch.
PoppaDom
Another vote for the Mightnight Blues! Have some here that have been in puddles and still work; albeit a little dull sounding but still functional! Poppadom
