Powerlines2k
Hi all I am trying to find a way to light a standard sparkler electrically (has to be done using Battery). Strange I know but the effect I need cannot be done with standard pyro as it needs to be fixed sideways or upside down. A glow plug works but encrusts the plug with magnesium, hot wires don't work and Det caps don't work. Any ideas? Or does anyone know of pyro that will obtain the same effect. Cheers in advance. Powerlines2k
Thanks Brian, I did look at ice fountains but unfortunately they wont burn upside down which they will need to do for the effect (imagine knife throwers rotating board affair but with no one on it). cheers. kje-kev1459
hi, it largely depends on which brand you are using, the ones I use light from fuse heads (electric matches), however try wrapping the end in tape match and then inserting the fuse head into the tape match. good luck
wycome5
I think ice fountains will burn upside down, I've done it before when twirling one through my fingers.
Brian
I've just tried an Ice Fountain and can report that they do burn upside down so would work OK on your wheel. The downside of them is that they don't like breezes so if your wheel is fast moving that might be a problem.

Ekij
Thanks for your help, ice fountains have been: Bought,<snip>Used in preview,CUT.Why were they cut?Was there a good technical reason why we should consider NOT using them or was the director just being typically erratic?
