I've never heard of Biema. Are you sure you've got your spelling right??

There is company, from Spain, called Beyma.

If you mean these people, then I've never had a problem with them. Seem to be quite a good manufacturer.

Just my 2p

If you mean Beyma, they're great - I have a big rig which has got those in for the HF. Nice drivers.

If you do mean Biema, then sorry, I've never heard of those!

A quick search brings up 'Biema' loudspeakers and amps, made by Guangzhou Wind Force Electronic Manufacturing Co., Ltd .

A wide range of products, including a familiar shaped line array.

I have no idea about price, quality etc., but suspect that the usual arguments concerning Chinese goods will follow...

Which particular models?

I travel to China and the Far East alot and hear/use plenty of Chinese systems. Generally they range from the abject to the just about passable. But there are a few diamonds (well acceptable for the money) in the amongst all the s**t. Bear in mind that the Chinese market is looking for a) a very different sound to western markets b) cheap and c) many companies only manufacture to export as they get a credit back from the government (think an anti export tax) and their main markets are to other Asian countries and Africa. Mostly you could build a better speaker, ableit more expensive, in your front room. Yes some companies manufacture their product there but the design work is done in UK, EUrope or US - and for a reason

Loudspeaker and PA technology are one of the few manufacturing and design industries that we still lead the world and are competitive in, not just here in the UK but also within the EU. If you arte thinking of buying these think firstly of that, then think of whether that company will still make that cabinet in a years time, where you'll get spares and support from, whether it meets RoHs,WEEP and all the other standards that European manufacturers have to build to. Finally remember buy cheap buy twice.

Rant over

Furry

The fact that I use them for electronic music ( dance music ) where lot's of ppl only understand about loud music and with tons of bass might help me in the fact of using chinese subs complementing a Nexo gig? I mean if I had to rent them to a live band probably the sound engineer will reject them but for a regular dj would be different probably if I don't mention that they are chinese they wouldn't even bother to tell.

Here in Thailand, Biema is popular with its Line Array System. I don't know why people use them but, they s*ck a lot. For some reasons, most people I know trashed them when they use it for 2-3 months. The output of an array of six speakers is worst than 2 x JBL EON15" at full max. You have to use it with its own Amplifier which is absolutely rubbish. The only good thing is it's a Line Array (when something is described as a Line Array or has a shape like them certainly brings Prestige to that gig) and you can do leasing for like 24 months?

I have never heard the Subwoofers before from Biema but, the Line Arrays does sucks

The specs for the line array dont look promising do they. Although I'd question their comparison to 2 Eon's as line arrays are a completely different system, setup and principle, so a clear comparison like that I would think would be quite difficult to draw.

You've got to give it to them for the technical discriptions. From the Sound mixer Pages:

"Intellectualized power can support long-time continuous working. There are three working modes of the fan: still, slow and speedup. The fan is running on automatically. And when the fan begins to run on, the fan LED ( Yellow) on the faceplate will be lighted."

Damn we've missed the chance to give them a new slogan.

Well, at least I understood what they were saying, which is more than can be said for some manufacturers....

However, why would they want to stop using “ Let's enjoy the sounds of Biema!” ??? ;-)
