small Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I trying to find the cheapest place to get some clickers to be able to count people into an event I'm involved with. Any ideas?
Bryson Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I buy them from RS. But they're unlikely to be the cheapest. They definitely sell them though. Just get a paper catalogue: the online one is singularly useless IMO.
bruce Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 CPC part number CP04060 - £2.56. Doesn't look like the most robust unit in the world, but it's very cheap... http://cpc.farnell.com/productimages/cpc/standard/CP0406006-40.jpg Edit: Hmmm - looks suspiciously like this one from RS, which costs a tenner http://img-europe.electrocomponents.com/largeimages/R332723-22.jpg RS online catalogue is great, as long as you know what you're looking for! In this case, I searched for "tally".
Bobbsy Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 It's not so much knowing what you're looking for as knowing what RS decide to call it. I doubt I would have come up with "tally" in a thousand years. Maybe that's why, like paulears, I don't get on with the RS online version. Bob
bruce Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Well, I only tried "tally" cos I had searched for "counter" in CPC, got about 4000 matches, drilled down through the section menus, made a couple of bad guesses, eventually clicked "recreational", and saw the picture. So then I realised that the proper name for it was "tally counter", and stuck that into the RS search :-) But I do prefer the paper versions of both.
Jivemaster Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 My local "Staples" stationers had them when I last wanted one,
small Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 Thanks for the suggestions - someone else on the committee went to ebay and has brought 12 for £18
