lifeisacabaret Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Hi Guys, Having just booked tickets for the new Howard Goodall musical at the Salisbury Playhouse in September, I was wondering if anyone had any details of the lighting and sound systems. I know Autograph are doing the sound, but as to lights, im not sure. Any details of the system, specifically sound, would be greatfully appreciated. Cheers!! J
thelightbulb Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 I might be able to find out as I am in their youth theatre and know alot of the crew well what do you want to know? I know that it will most probably be the regualar in house equipment so sirrus -I think nnothing too special anyway as we aren't exactly a 'big' theatre
lifeisacabaret Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 Im particularly interested in the sound design, and that will be all brought in by Autograph, so I was wondering what RF system/mic heads theyre using, which speakers, console etc. JG
thelightbulb Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 K have asked they may be rather busy so could take a while either that or they are still on hols!
gareth Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 I might be able to find out as I am in their youth theatre and know alot of the crew well what do you want to know? I know that it will most probably be the regualar in house equipment so sirrus -I think nnothing too special anyway as we aren't exactly a 'big' theatreCouple of points .... your profile says that your "current place of employment" is Salisbury Playhouse. If you actually work there, surely you'll know something about the production. Or are you being a bit 'creative' by making such a claim in your profile? Secondly, the Salisbury Playhouse is a major regional producing house, so I strongly suspect the lighting desk there is something significantly meatier than a Sirius (or even a "Sirrus").
thelightbulb Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 firstly.......... this is what it says on my profile Current Employment or place of study- the Salisbury arts centre and playhouse - this to me is a place of study/training as I officially work at the arts centre sirrus was a spelling error(no need to be rude.......none too nice) and I do correct myself the desk is in fact a strand 520i control :D I do get things wrong occasionally M I was going to say a series but wasn't paying attention which wasn't too far from the truth and by 'big' theatre I mean in comperison to London theatres and I have even designed some lx there too
gareth Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Apologies, I misinterpreted your profile information - you must admit, it is misleading, implying as it does that you work at both venues (claiming that you are "working in the industry" followed by listing the Playhouse under "Current employment or place of study").
thelightbulb Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 anyway this is what the asst elec said to me from the playhouse . Sound will probably be a Cadac mixing down in thestalls, but who knows!!! I can let you know more nearer the time when the designers start toactually do anything! there you go
lifeisacabaret Posted August 8, 2006 Author Posted August 8, 2006 Cheers. I suppose with it being an Autograph show, its going to be either some type of Cadac or some type of Digico. Looking forward to it.
thelightbulb Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 cool well might know more soon the music is rather interesting?!cheers enjoy
neild Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Ok... What can we tell you? The mixer is indeed a Cadac and its software is also triggering samples and reverb / delay set ups. The radio mics are sennheiser with I believe DPA heads. The PA itself is a new line array from Alcons in Belgium that is being trialled by Autograph with us. Hope this answers a few questions, and enjoy the show!
