lonfire Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Hi guys,I've been asked to quote for a big fireworks to music show. the fireworks part is fine (as thats what we do), however we are also looking to iluminate the front of the building.. Its an old tudor style house thats painted white. our firing system can output DMX so what we are looking for is a setup to iluminate the front of the building, idealy with colour changers.. this event will be in october so will need to bear in mind the weather. any suggestions for lights/setup/hire companies..etc would be appreciated.. there is also a possibility that they'll want some video projection on the building also, but thats another matter.. thankschris
niclights Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I would be tempted to use the SGM Palco LED's: Weatherproof, any colour, no bulb, no heat, easy power and incredibly bright.
steve1159 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 As it happens this will be a quick reply as I am just prepping to go off and light a building outside for a classical concert/firework show. If you are just looking to flood the building with light we generally use studio due city colours or with more intricate parts then the smaller version the minicity. PM us if you want more info or if you want to hire some units etc. All units are designed for outside use and have full CYM mixing so ideal for the job.
Pete Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Another vote for City's and Mini's!Although controversially I think that city beams are a more useful unit in some circumstances. As for hire,PM me. As for setup, well Ill do it if the rates right!
mumbles Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I would be tempted to use the SGM Palco LED's: Weatherproof, any colour, no bulb, no heat, easy power and incredibly bright.Having never used the palcos, only seen them, are they good enough to justify the price (hire for more than 3 times the price of the mini city). For times when the heat, or the lower power would be beneficial then I can see the advantage, but for just basic colour mixing, as far as I can see, the city would be better value for money.
LDODD Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 As a rule: Mini-City's if the building is only 2 floors (inc Ground) and city colours if it's any higher. Many Hire Co's have these in stock fairly cheap.
