Elwell2004 Posted July 10, 2006 Author Posted July 10, 2006 According to the parents they neva sat down and he is a pure entertainer and they enjoyed every minute.
colourwatt Posted July 11, 2006 Posted July 11, 2006 They might be using vari-lite series 300 equipment from the U.S.A.
i_hate_fisicks Posted July 17, 2006 Posted July 17, 2006 Well they were right! Someone put a lot of money and effort into that lighting rig! Now I'm not a fully paid up lighting bore, but it looked to me like there were in the region of 60 Vari-Lite VL3000s, 40 Studio Colour 250s, 30-40 Mac2000 wash, 20 or so VL500s, a shed load of 4 cell blinders, some crazy big things that looked like they belonged on a ship with colour and gobo scrollers on them. There were 6-8 of these, and from where they were hung over the stage, they could make a lovely colour wash on the back wall of the arena. Then there were 10 truss mounted follow spots. They had a good proportion of them set around the back of the stage, maybe 3m above the main performace area, and the rest way up in the roof. There was a cool circular stage with a trapdoor from which the piano rose at the beginning of the gig. Piano was also on a revolve. Sound looked like Clair I4, and some digidesk that I couldn't identify from a distance. Not a bad sounding rig, but the vocals could have been clearer. All in all a cool show. They even let one of the roadies come on and sing Highway to Hell!

Just home from the gig? Me too (the load out that is, I only saw the last 10 mins or so of the show). It looked like there were some pretty lighting states. I didn't count accurately, but I reckon you're pretty close there. Is a "Studio Colour 250" the same thing as a "Studio Beam"? If not, thats what they were. The dustbin sized moving heads were Synchrolights, and you missed 3 truss spots (there were actually 13) - 2.5k Lycian something or others. Here's a snapshot for you, a 'riggers eye view' of the rig as a whole during the in:http://www.deepsoup.f2s.com/BR/joelsheffthumb.jpg Seanx

If not, thats what they were. They're about the same size so itd be easy to confuse the two. Id hedge a guess that they were lycian M2s-everyones favourite spot of the moment (apart from myne ** laughs out loud **)

Well hey, I was a long way away and it was dark (not that I can tell the difference from up close I don't think - as I said, I'm not a fully paid up lighting bore!).
