Stage Ramps

Hey there,

We have a 1.2 metre high stage which at the moment only has stair access at the back. For safety of load ins for live events we are now looking into purchasing a stage ramp. So far I have a quote from ra'alloy.

Can anyone recommend any other stage ramp companies/metal work companies that could make a safety rated ramp or offer any alternative methods of stage access for equipment load in (such as amp racks, monitor desks, monitor speakers, backline etc etc)?

Thanks for your help.

hi rob, welcome to the blueroom, r'alloy are your best bet as they have done the ramps for many years. I cant think of any other companies off the top of my head but will see what I can find out.. good luck.

Ra'alloy are definitely the best around, because they have the sharkstooth tread pattern. I have seen other ramps with a cross-hatch pattern, but these can get slippery in wet conditions, whereas the Ra'alloy ones continue to provide good grip. They're definitely the ones that most major touring companies use.

Hi

We've used all makes of ramps from the UK to Italy but recently came across a company called ARC I presume it satnds for Aluminium Ramp Company. The surface was similar to Ralloy but I thought the manufacture quality was better. Their web add is rampcompany.com.

Hope that helps.

Major problem with ARC Ramps is getting hold of them. One minute they are there and the next they are not especially when you chase delivery of your ramp ordered 6 months previous and then you find they have done a bunk. To be honest you have these companies coming in who are obviously importing from China or somewhere then the floor bends and you name it - Its far more economical to stick to the old trusted Raalloy.

lstsound, do you work for Raalloy? It's just that all your posts are added to the end of very old threads & recommend them. :)
