I find "4 and a very little bit" amps to the kilowatt to work for estimating. You should probably work it out properly some time though....

To be pedantic :unsure: the ACTUAL amperage of a singl kW at 230v is 4.3478A, so closer to 4 and a half amps.

I was just about to say: since 230V came in I've worked on the basis of 4.5A/kW, +10% to give a bit of headroom.

As nobody has said so in this thread yet, I'll point out that LED lights are a good way to go if you are limited to 13A sockets.
