blindsamuri
Hi Guys Can anyone or everyone give me some opinion on some EVid6.2 and subs in a home gym. An old employer has asked me to install a sound system in his home gym. The room is 60 foot by 20 foot. I have spec'd 8 EVid 6.2 with 2 12.1 subs driven from 2x EV CP2200 amps via the EV speaker control manager thing. Some More Background....I come from A HiFi Background and Own a sussesful HiFi shop. He comes from a HiFi background and has very expensive taste. He Favours a Pair of Mackie Active SR1521 and the matching sub. I have a pair of SRM 450 and think that they are a bit shoutey. I think that 4 EVid per side and a pair of subs in opposing corners will give a more pleasurable and even sound. throuout the room. Cost wise its like for like. So tell me what you think. back_ache
Your solution is a good one especially as the evids won't mind the room getting damp as gyms tend to, they are aesthetically pleasing, the controller will give him something to play with and if he cranks it up whilst playing "eye of the tiger" now and again they'll be okay with that also. B-) The system I'm sure will sound fine, but remember to align his expectations, it's not a listening room!
Brian
Hi Chris You might already have done it but I wonder if you might get more replies on a more 'hi-fi' forum. To be honest this question is a bit 'domestic' for most of our community.
