Dmills
Milk, no sugar in mine ta! Coffee, black thanks. Seriously, it depends on what the "Music Technology" degree involved! Some, (UWE spring to mind) run this course as a mix of electronic engineering, CS, Math & music theory and practise, in which case an entry level position at a console or outboard manufacturer might be worth a look. Some run this as a "Technological music" course, in which case get on the casual lists at your local hire providers and theatres (And expect to make LOTS of cups of tea (and push plenty of flightcases)). Back in the day I got much humour value out of watching the students on the former who had assumed they were signing up for the latter. Regards, Dan. soundmanjim
Hi God! I reckon going on tour with a band you know and actually like would be good, as you get to go and play with other people's PA systems and muck up their EQ curves. Rofl. Also, theres actually no harm in going to the job centre and typing in sound engineering in the job search computer. I actually found 4 jobs listed in my area!!! Lastly theres always the old boy network. Put an ad in this forum, people are always looking for enthusiastic hands to help. Esp as its festival season. Good luck!
