Owen Radmore
Just looking for some ideas/suggestions of how to make Pinnochios nose grow For small scale tour to community venues, theatres and schools. Could the nose grow on stage? or would it be better to combine it with a shadow effect and mask? Would it be a full mask or just the nose? Brian
From a 2000 post I made to RATS...We did Pinocchio last Xmas. At first we had a nose operated by aBowden cable (flexible cable inside a tube, used in model aircraft). The problem was that the amount of movement to make a convincing'grow' was impractical. In the end I made a mask for Pinocchio with a short (1"-2") flat endednose as the normal nose onto which was stuck a 9" extension pieceusing magnets. All Pinocchio had to do was conceal the extension inher (played by a girl, I know Pinocchio is/was a boy) sleeve and asthe nose was to start to grow she could stroke it and plant theextension on.
