Hello

Has anyone seen the new le maitre fake flame in action?

Have been looking at it on the website and it kinda looks likes some mist with lights behind...?

Any links - possible demo's most obliged.

Yeah does look good.

There was one in action at last years Plasa. Basically a wide haze machine with some up-lighting.

But does look good when looking at it from a distance. ( better than Silk Flames in my Eyes)

This product is excellent, it makes everyone stop and look at it as the eefect is so realistic. There is only one model at present and its quite large, I have got some pictures and simple video on my camera as it was used at a recent function, anyone who wants a pic just send me your e-mail addy

That (the video) does look excellent, even at close quarters. Seems like quite a bulky unit though - 0.48m wide and 1.2m deep? Not terribly convenient for many theatrical applications (I'm thinking fireplaces in sets). I hope they manage to make smaller ones eventually.

Any ideas on cost yet?

I came across these on the internet the other day, look very interesting in terms of hire for a school production environments (real pyro is obviously out of the question, and IMHO silk flames can look a bit naff). Any ideas how high the 'flame' can go to? What sort of control over it do you have in terms of intensity etc? Is it DMX-able?
