Jamtastic3
A quick question here folks,I have CP Miniscan HPE's and noticed I can swap between a HTI 300w lamp or a HMD 300w lamp. Which lamp type should I buy next when I need new lamps and why?
Barney
As far as I am aware, HTI are metal halide lamps similar to standard HMI lamps - but they use short-arc technology. This means that they are generally brighter than standard HMI discharge lamps. HMD lamps are long-life versions of double-ended HTI lamps, intended primarily for special lighting effects and architectural applications. In practise, this usually means that HMD lamps will last longer (have a longer lamp life in the manufacturers figures), but will not be as bright as their HTI equivalent. If you can afford to lose a (generally little) bit of light output in exchange for longer life (and hence not buy replacements as often), then HMD are for you!
