Brian
I'm having trouble tracking down some stick-on labels with individual numbers on them. Size is around 14mm wide by 19mm high, printed black on yellow. I've looked at Farnell, CPC and RS without luck. Any ideas?
Oovis
Have you tried asking Wholesale Fittings? I don't know if they do them, but their catalogue says they do a self design label service
ampcats
what sort of quantity? - for small runs I get flourescent paper, print on it, the thin B&Q double sided carpet tape (that stuff will stick water together) on the back and wide sellotape on the front, use a wallpaper edge roller or rolling pin to seal it together, then cut em out with a steel and blade, peel off the backing - voila (I'll admit, I was a Blue Peter addict) or http://www.beaverswood.co.uk/html/lbl_alphanum.html has 14*19 black on yellow, but 'removable adhesive'
Andrew C
Again a bit dependant on quantity, how about printing with a Casio / Brother PC linked printer? I think I know which labels Brian is looking for; in strips on blue backing card? Definitely RS, or rather they were. ;)
Brian
Have you tried asking Wholesale Fittings? That's probably the sort of place. Trouble is for me all the decent electrical wholesalers are on the wrong side of town = 45 minute drive. I might try phoning them in the week. what sort of quantity? - for small runs I get flourescent paper...Possible althought I was hoping for the easy route ;) The sort I'm after are quite tough being a vinyl (?) label. http://www.beaverswood.co.uk/html/lbl_alphanum.htmlIf it wasn't for the phrase 'easily removed' those would be spot on. I think I know which labels Brian is looking for; in strips on blue backing card? Definitely RS, or rather they were. :(That's the sort of thing I'm looking for. [EDIT]Well, it turns out I'm looking for series 3420 labels from Brady. Can't find anyone who sells them though.
bruce
How about RS part number 445-3903 ? vinyl, sticky, black on yellow, 15.9mm... http://img-europe.electrocomponents.com/largeimages/C558644-63.jpg
Andrew C
WTF did you search on? I KNEW what I was looking for but couldn't find them... Books are almost always better... ;)
bruce
I was sure RS did them - we've got loads in the workshop... searched on "label yellow", then took the "category labelling" on right. Bruce.

Oovis
WTF did you search on? I KNEW what I was looking for but couldn't find them... Books are almost always better... ;) I often find the search function on the RS CD fails to find stuff the search function on the RS website will. They must use different databases for some reason. bruce
Another option might be a P-Touch labeller with black-on-yellow tape? There's another company that supplies this sort of stuff - they send me a catalogue every few months - but I can't remember the name....this is really annoying me now ;)
ampcats
Respect to Bruce - I never use maplin / CPC / canford CD searches for that reason - and while I knew that RSwww was a bit hard to go through, I didn't realise it was as elusive as the others... (that has now given me a small back catalogue of failed CD searches to go through...) I know what TIWMBD..
Brian
Just a quick success report. The RS part number Bruce gave above is spot on. What is confusing is the RS description of 4mm, 9.5mm and 15.9mm - this refers to the character height. The image Bruce linked to is of the 9.5mm labels, each label is 9mm wide and 13mm high.
