Tom Baldwin
Has anybody used HSI colour model LED fixtures on a Pearl (e.g. ChromaQ Colour Block)? I have a gig coming up where I'd like to use LED fixtures (heat), and a Pearl (familiarity), but would really want an intensity channel to suit my programming and busking style. Since I'm not aware of any LED fixtures with an intensity channel in RGB mode*, and since the Pearl doesn't do virtual dimmers, I'm forced into HSI mode. But I've never tried that before, and wonder how usable the Pearl is with the HSI model. I'm happy with imagining colours in an HSI space - it's the desk I worry about! Experiences welcomed! Tom *apart from the PixelPar 90, which is too expensive in the quantities I need - and probably a little fierce on the lumens, too
Tomo
If you're happy thinking of the colours, then ignore the problem. Set the Intensity channel as a dimmer, and call Hue and Saturation colour wheels or scrollers with 256 steps (or 65536 if 16-bit).
