whitehousejamie
Hi All, Looking to buy a complete used PA, budget is around £7000. Any good companies / websites I can look at that sell used PA? Ideally looking for 6 boxes, with amps, cables, processor etc. System will be replacing 4 stacks of EV MTL2 / Betamax. Up to yet, I have tryed concerttrade.com, SSE, bobkelly.co.uk, intasound. Any advice / suggestions greatly appriciated. Cheers Jamie

whitehousejamie
Thanks for that. Have had a look at all the companies and couldn't find anything of massive interest. Any more suggestions? Thanks
Rob_Beech
theres a used Q light system on ebay at the mo. self powered, probably not what you are looking for but its only a click away. Q light Its been on before and didn't sell, so you may be able to get in touch with the guy and make an offer. I dont know the seller, was just doing a general search (as you do) and spotted it. Hambone
Of all the kit I'd buy used, loudspeakers wouldn't be one of them. IMO, it's like buying a used Subaru Impreza "driven by a little old lady once a week to church." RCF is really making a dent in the market. Simon Lewis
Of all the kit I'd buy used, loudspeakers wouldn't be one of them. IMO, it's like buying a used Subaru Impreza "driven by a little old lady once a week to church." I guess you haven't seen the little old ladies who go to my church then... ;-) So how would you differentiate a well used loudspeaker from a nearly thrashed amplifier or a dropped several times but still working CD player? All second user kit carries a risk, and you could argue that a loudspeaker is easier to test and/or repair. I'm not quite sure about your RCF comment though? StevieR
Jamie, What size of rig are you looking for and for what type of material? An idea of intended audience size would be useful... Steve
Bad_Rock
Depending where you are but Grace audio or soundbroker would be a great place to look at.
whitehousejamie
Thanks for the replies, a little more info.... Will be used mainly for corporate disco work, so mostly UK Chart music (nothing too heavy), dance, RnB etc. Audience size will be anything up to 3000, however the majority of shows will be around 500 people. Ideally looking for a 3 or 4 way active system, with horn loaded mids. If anyone has any Void Stasys going, I am interested.... Thanks P.S. Rob_Beech
One more thing to ask. How often is this to be done?is it a "full time" thing for you, a few nights a week. or is it less often? If the latter (by less often I mean a small number of times a year) then would you be better dry hiring racks and stacks?that way you can hire as much or as little as you needed. If its a regular thing then this maybe isn't the right choice ;) 3000 people is a fair few to be doing with 6 boxes of anything. Maybe the possibility of buying a popular system amongst hire companies and then hiring in extra for larger venues. All things to think about. rob
