gonzo1
Hi, Please could you pass on any advice you may have, on the cleaning of the insides of scanners. The lights I am cleaning have a build up of dust, some type of oil on the lenses and cobwebs! I presume you cant just go spraying "Mr Sheen" inside them, hence the post.I was thinking of using "Air Duster" but seem to remember it being quite expensive for what it is. Ideally I would like them serviced by a company that knows what they are doing, and at the same time could check the overall condition of the insides. Any information much appreciated, Ian. p.s. should a company be intrested in the servicing of these,I am in Blackburn.
Tomo
Wipe everything down with a lint-free cloth. For the optics, isopropyl alcohol is great. For the moving parts you may wish to clean off all the grease - alcohol works ok for this as well - and replace it, but you're better off with dirty grease than none at all, so don't clean the moving parts (gears, screws etc) unless you have some suitable grease and/or oil to replace the old stuff.
