ampcats
what 's the venue - what sort of pub / club are you after? viking - my first choice every time... they are very good and price competitively - all the kit is immaculate or very good condition - I have never had anything missing - everything (including the red crates smaller stuff comes in) is counted infront of you when it is delivered - so you know it is there, and the guys who deliver it know the kit, so if you have any questions - you're not talking to 'just a driver'. colydog
We're out at Dunstall hall tomorrow and thursday. Anywhere within taxi range with late bar live music. Should involve one or more guitars. Couple of the boys would be particular of their guinness too. All ideas welcomed
ampcats
dunston hall is about 5 miles from the city centre - taxi won't give you much change from a tenner I'd have thought... nme new music tour at the UEA on the 18th... the ferryboat (your side of town) and the brickmakers (opposite side - extra £5 taxi) both have midweek music - but the brick is a taxi or a bus back into town if you don't like it - the ferryboat is only an easy (no road changes) 5 minutes walk from city centre irish themed / type bars are McCawbers (formerly Seamus O' Rourkes) and Delaneys - the latter being the later opening (and better located one) the trendy city centre pubs have the usual smart-casual ******s who won't stop drinking - and acting like idiots - a couple of exceptions are the walnut tree shades and the vine (both 20 yards from the central market and about 2 minutes from Delaneys) the 'main strip' of prince of wales road starts just after the castle / cinema / underground shopping mall at the road leading to The Cathedral (CofE - Norwich has 2) - 3 minutes walk from Delaneys past a few more pubs - and goes past several nightclubs / couple of pubs / amusement centre / food outlets etc before hitting the river - then the riverside development has another slew of bars / nightclubs and bowling alley / cinema. at the venue, the lift is slow, not big and the only one at that end of the hotel... easier to drive round the back (7.5t is a bit tight...) and lug stuff up the big stone steps - there are 2 spots to rest larger stuff , and it is easier taking big stuff up the back way in any case... niclights
Sadly the Ferryboat is going to close. :D - this topic is about lighting companies, not pubs. No more off-topic chat, please - keep it relevant.
