JohnPartridge
Hi , just been watching Radio 1's Big weekend coverage on BBC Three. And Something which struck me was "What are those netting type effects" hanging from the Main Stage. Sorry about the poor explanation but basically they are a series of Plastic 'Orbs' Which are obviously DMX controlled and can provide full Colour Change and Strobing. Dimensions wise they are around 2.5M wide with about 6m Drop. I Will try and Provide a Image Soon. Any Other Tech Details Will be Welcomed as well  Many ThanksJohn Partridge
Andrew C
I know the ones you mean, saw it at Plaza last year. Barco? Ping-pong ball sized "pixels". Very clever!

pritch
I didn't see it, but what you're describing sounds awfully like Chroma-Q Color (sic) Web http://www.aclighting.com/products/chroma-...q.htm#colourweb
JohnPartridge
Yes True , pressing the Red button without Digital will only turn off your TV  Yes they look exactly what I am describing  Who are they produced by? peter
The ones on 1 Big Weekend definately weren't the Chroma Q Web... the orbs were much bigger and connected as single strings rather than a web.
Nick S
I havn't seen pictures, but from what you describe it sounds awfully like the LED curtains U2 were using on their Vertigo tour (but not in the European leg, where they used simple LED screens). They're built by Barco, and they can be attached to motors and retracted much like a normal curtain (as they were during the Vertigo tour). Individual LED modules are attached to a string, and multiple strings can form one single "curtain", which can be used for video, colours, etc. See this article for more info. Pete McCrea
I belive it's Barco MiSphere if it's the same product as on the XL Stand.
JohnPartridge
Hello People , I think we have started to go Off Topic here. marc
hey all, I was there working for SAS on the second stage, Lamps on the main stage were provided by Bandit, and lamps on the Second stage were from PRG. They had a catalyst running over the barco hangs of led ball stuff, as previously described. What else are you after knowing, I was there as a noise boy, not lamps. but I saw a bit of what was rigged, Mk
