The Rat Pack- UK TOUR

Recommended Posts

The show in general is very simple (lighting, sound everything basically)

Firstly the show is produced by Flying Music - run away whenever you hear these two words, just my personal opinion.

The idea behind the show is that it is a recreation of a concert that the rat pack did in the states.

There was a 20 something piece live band at the back of the stage on a steel deck band platform.

Lighting was a large (VERY LARGE) number of parcans and a couple of movers (Martin Macs if I remember correctly)

Give me a couple of days I will see what can find out about sound stuff.

Any reason why The Rat Pack in particular?

Well im at Uni in Bath, and I walked past the Theatre Royal this morning and saw what I think was a console flightcase being wheeled from the stagedoor to the FOH door (presumably to get the console to the house mixing position, which is not exactly easily accessible from the loading dock.

I think I remember reading somewhere that it was an Outline Audio Line Array in London? Any other information? The console specifically....Also, any info on the tour would be great!

So stop asking on here, call in to the stage door and ask politely if the touring sound crew might have a moment to show you what they've got. (fnarr).

Ouch. No need to be unpleasant.

I wasn't trying to be unpleasant. (Trust me, when I am, you'll know.)

I was offering sincere advice in good faith. If you want to know about the system in question, why not go talk to the person who runs it.

If the noise boy(girl) in question is feeling friendly, maybe you'll get a tour, a chance to have a good look around the system and have your questions answered. If not - worst case - you'll gain a valuable learning experience (especially for someone looking for a career in stage management) in the black art of persuading uncooperative technicians to do what you want them to do.
