jayselway
Hi there all, a little question for you regarding a TOA driver if I may. I was on a gig last night and noticed that one of the mid compression drivers seemed to be playing up. It was crackling, and not producing anything useful, but then stopping for a while, before setting off again. Now, I am hoping that it is a fault on the crossover, cause that would be a lot easier to source parts for, I reckon, but if it is the compression, I'll need to find a new diaphragm for it. The box itself is a TOA 380-SE cab, and the drivers are HFD-351-BN-8, HT371-8. Now, part of the problem is that I don't know which driver is the mid, but even then I am struggling to find a replacement. Does anybody have any ideas as to which is which, and also where I could source a replacement diaphragm? Cheers all  Jay
mackerr
According to the TOA USA site, there are no longer parts available for the 380-SE. Have you tried TOA in the UK? The mid driver is the larger of the 2 compression drivers (there may only be 1 plus a piezo, the specs are unclear). If you can't get any love from TOA maybe you will be able to find a replacement that will fit, but you will probably want to replace them all with the newer driver. jayselway
UPDATE: I've spoken to TOA UK and they don't stock the diaphragm any more, however, they do stock the whole driver, (excluding the horn flare), so I'll be off to get one of those then!! Mac: The 380-SE has 2 compression drivers in it - no piezo for me please!! Thanks for your reply  Jay
