Michael Beere
Hay,I am having difficulty's understanding how to get two colour washes out of a PAR 16 Batten. The unit that I will be using is a PAR 16 20 Lamp, 2 Circuit, 2 metre batten, I understand that each circuit is 110v therefore I need a splitter. Where I get lost is how can I have one colour at 100% and the other at 0% and vice verser. Can anybody shin some light Cheers
gareth
M16 battens (Howie battens or L&E's) are normally used in pairs - one circuit on each of the battens comes off one of the two legs of a series splitter. If you want to use a single batten and separate the two circuits, the only way you could do so would be to drop each of the feeds down to 120v using a dimmable transformer. gareth
No problem. But, given that your profile says that you work for one of the largest lighting rental companies in the UK I'm surprised that you can't get the advice and solutions that you need from your employers and/or colleagues? Just Some Bloke
Cheers for that idea, does anybody else have any other solutionsThere aren't any other solutions! Oh, I suppose you could series pair each one with a 120v load lamp pointing at a wall in the wings in deep blue. However, Gareth's post is the intended way for them to be used. Pete
Black wrapped load lamps or another pair of battens
bruce
Take them to america? Power them from 10 car batteries in series? Or maybe just take Gareth's advice...
James S
Or swap the bulbs to 24V MR16s (and probably the connectors too)
AndrewR
Or use them with dimmers that have a selectable output voltage! My Strand SLD's will put out as low as 80v  . Very handy if you have some Selecon Pacific's with the 80v 1200w lamps. Shame you need a 5k circuit (to handle the current).
