neff
I'm in the process of getting together a few ideas for a new studio space build for the school I work in. Part of this build has 2 studio spaces that can be opened up into one big studio space. As it can be used as one room or two it needs to have lighting control in both rooms that can then be used for one big room. I've seen that the Wallrack has two DMX inputs - anybody know if you can have one inpu control says channels 1-24 and the other control 25-48? mac.calder
The strand manual for it says:For DMX port, use Up/Down buttons to select either Merge, Mux A, Mux B or HTP. Press Right button to enter. For the Merge option, you will also need to select the point that Mux B merges with Mux A. Press the Right button and then use the Up/Down buttons to select the first Mux B address to merge with DMX 1 of Mux A. Press Right button to enter.Press OK to confirm changes, press again to save or press Esc to exit without saving any changes. Which indicates that it is able to merge both DMX streams and also able to use HTP (Highest Takes Priority), meaning it is extreamly easy to set up. Let's say you give each space 12 channels, patched to DMX addresses 1->24 and use HTP (You could also use merge I suppose, however I have no idea if my last line/para will work when merged) Desk A, softpatch it 1:1 (so Fader one controls Channel one). Desk B, softpatch from 13->24 (Fader one controls Channel 13, 2 controls 14 etc). Then if you open up the rooms, and you are planning on using desk A in wide mode, the 1:1 patch will control both rooms, or you could use both desks. HTP means though, that if someone slips desk A into widemode whilst the other studio is also in use, any channels in the 13->24 range will take on the highest value from the two consoles.
