DJ Dicky
Hi I am the UK part of the free DMX software project DMXControl. The new major release is being delayed due to the lack of good English documentation. We have created a Wiki web site to allow anyone to help with the documentation. You do not need to understand anything about the DMX software to help. The pages are being translated to English from German and need to have the English improved and tidied up. The software is free so there is no money to pay anyone but you will get the satisfaction of being a part of this great project. the site is at www.nextec.co.uk/dmxcontrol/Wiki/index.php/Main_Page Thanks in advance.Richard
back_ache
We have created a Wiki web site to allow anyone to help with the documentation. Is it staying in wiki (so we should be wikifying as well as correcting) or will it be export to another format? DJ Dicky
We have created a Wiki web site to allow anyone to help with the documentation. Is it staying in wiki (so we should be wikifying as well as correcting) or will it be export to another format? The documentation will be exported into the help files and the "paper" manual, but the Wiki will remain in place so that the improvements to the documentation can happen as the new releases of software are issued. Thank you for your help on this project. Richard
LeeStoddart
I had a look at this this morning and I'm struggling to see the wood for the trees. I realise that you are wanting some "word-smithing" done. However without an overall feel for what the documentation is about it is pretty difficult to do much more than grammatical correction. I imagine that you are looking for something more than that - effectively producing a readable technical manual. Is there a way to see/read the overall thing? Is everything you have in German now loaded and this is all there is? Or are their other chapters to add which will give the document more structure and depth. DJ Dicky
There is a massive amount of german text still to upload. I will try to get it all added over the next few days. In the mean time you could have a look at the draft English version for the old release. It should put some bits in context. You can download the PDF from www.nextec.co.uk/Docs/Afterglow%20DMX%20Control%20Manual.pdf Thanks
