Little Shop of Horror Plants/Set

Hi,

This summer we are doing a production of Little Shop of Horrors at our school, the director was thinking of having to build the set and plant, but due to lack of experience, we were wondering if anyone on Blue Room has a set or a plant that we could hire/buy of them our limit is around £600.

Please ask your friends etc if they no where we can get a plant/set for little shop of horrors.

Thanks

Graham

one option, though how realistic it is I don't know, is to give Adrian Hall at GSA a call - we had an audrey 2 made up last year, PM me or google for GSA Conservatoire for contact details.

all the best.

When I worked full time at Mountview they had a complete set of plants that they hired out, including a remote control one.

Try Matt (Production Manager) on 020 8829 2452 to see if they are still around.

I just though I'd update you on my "search for Audrey..."

Spoke to some of the "usual supects" who have been mentioned on this thread. All that I spoke to had decent product, however transport was a problem. You can't exactly stick a stamp one Audrey and put her in the post... it's usually too big for a pallet, so you need either personal delivery or a removals company. Since it's hire, you need 2 trips. The carriage is generally more than the hire fee!

So I started phoning/emailing some of the other organisations in Scotland who have done this show over the last few years. Some had used the props mentioned earlier in this thread. Others had used an Audrey which had a Dundee accent - it apparently came from Northern College in Dundee. However, Northern College recently merged with Dundee Uni, and at the time Audreyt was in a fairly poor state. She didn't survive the merger, and went to the compost heap.

Then I found a set on Ebay - which had been made for a school in the London area. Haven't actually received it yet - it's getting delivered next week by a local removals company who are going to be "in the area" - but the pictures look good!

Problem solved.

ps - if anyone wants to buy a set of Audreys, available at Christmas, send me a PM. Otherwise it goes back on Ebay...

Update: I have been having conversations with others on this forum - my Audrey is now sold (I hope!). I've also put someone else in touch with the person who plans to buy it from me - it's fascinating how these props move from one venue to another ;)

I have just noticed that there is another Audrey on Ebay - closing date is 15 October. Perhaps this will be useful to someone.

There are a couple of places who have them mentioned earlier in the thread, Mountview certainly still have their set as I saw them recently.

Creating them yourselves is probably going to be just as expensive as hiring them.

Check back up the thread, I know Mountview's set is still doing the rounds.

BUT there is a new production at the Meiner Chocolate Factory that is doing very well and is rumoured may transfer so it may be worth enquiring about the availability of the rights before you go any further.
