thcousins
 I have been messing about with the OLE provided by mac.calder (link to post) link to mac.calders OLE (hope you don't mind me adding this here!) The thing that always annoyed me about it is using the keyboard shortcuts, which I never can remember. After trying a few unsuccessfully routes, I stumbled across this website, and think my experiments may be of use to a few people. The software, which you can download for 30 days trial, allows you to create or just run a virtual keyboard. When used in conjunction with the OLE you can, in theory, have a virtual lighting desk. All the keyboard shortcuts still work as normal, but with the use of the mouse the on screen keys can also be pressed. Hope this makes sense! The best way to see what I mean is to try it, you can download the software from the link above and the OLE if required, then get my virtual keyboard and have a play. I will add a link to download from in a few mins (probably should have done that before posting! ) edit: (link now added see bottom) Any feedback much appreciated! PS. To register the runtime software only cost $15 , although the design software is significantly more!PPS. Has anyone else tried something like this? Are there better solutions? edit: here is the link for the keyboard file
b1nuzz
Will this enable things like moving lights from the x-connect software?Sound like a good idea though.
thcousins
Short answer no, that is the next step! All this does is provide a front end interface that is more similar to the desk than a keyboard. I still have not found a way to make fader and wheels function as they do on the desk! But in short, anything you can control with keystrokes (or a combination of keystrokes) can be assigned to virtual keys!
b1nuzz
Cool. So, have you built a keyboard that we could download after we have purchased the edit software?
thcousins
edit: here is the link for the keyboard file See my 1st post!  You don't need to 'purchase' the software just yet, as you get 30 days free trial. If it is useful, then buy it!

ampcats
Note from the moderators : this member has deleted/edited several of his posts in a fit of pique. Apologies if it makes the thread harder to follow - we've reinstated what we can, but the newer ones hadn't been cached so there's nothing we can do about them.
