beware
I want to wire my new Showtec Dimmers to 32A single phase. I'm going to put 1 trailing 32A ceeform and 6 trailing 15A sockets on it. A looking at the badly translated and ambiguous diagram provided, a few questions come to mind: 1: There are 3 Live inputs (it can by wired three phase). Do I need to link them all with short links, or just wire live to L1?2: Same as 1, but for the neutrals 3: There are no separate neutral connections on the output. I a connection block a safe idea to wire all the neutrals together, or is there a better way? My current assumptions are: 1 - need to link them all, 2- same answer 3-should be fine. Cheers Ben
strandgsx
arr that old one. Yes you need to link the lives on the input but not the neutrals. On the outputs the six outs are live and its a shared earth and neutral. Hope that helps Mark
beware
Thanks for the quick reply. Is a connection block safe to use for the neutral and earth?
niclights
Sounds ok to me, just make sure the connector blocks are up to the rating - ie. 63A ceramic block type ideally. Similarly, is 32A input enough power?
beware
it worked fine last year. we only have a 32A at the church. We run 3 dimmers, so there is a potential for overloading, but we've only got max of 40A in lanterns, so as long as they're not all on at once for too long, we're fine. niclights
That's fair enough. But I do suggest you wire the outputs through terminal blocks capable of the full load, for future safety.
