SANDMAN1976 Posted April 30, 2006 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Hi again guys....Thankyou for your help on my last post I got the power back to the unit, now I have a smaller problem where as the cd drawer wont stay closed on the left side??it take the drawer in , thinks for a moment then opens it again. Brian Posted April 30, 2006 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Ah, now that's more serious. When a CD player takes in a disc it first moves the laser to the inside edge and tries to focus it. If it can't then it usually ejects the disc again. Unless you are very lucky and it's something simple like a bit of dust or a loose connection then it'll be a dead laser assembly. Jivemaster Posted April 30, 2006 Share Posted April 30, 2006 Actually I would be wary of repairing it. If you are on the road and it misbehaves you are on the road to nowhere, fast. Is there a possibility that something failed, clearing the internal fuse. Now you are lookong for tha first fault - the reason why the on board fuse cleared.
