Stuart91
We've got a reasonable amount of Trilite truss, mainly 2m and 3m sections, and I'm getting increasing distressed at how easily the stuff gets scratched in transit. I've been using the cardboard boxes that some of our newer pieces shipped in, but they are falling apart so this won't be a very good long term proposition. What I've been thinking of is some kind of "sock" that can either be pulled over the truss, or with a zip - like a body bag but for truss. Has anyone out there tried anything like this? How well did it work? I've seen a few solutions (from Adam Hall etc.) involving strapping piles of truss onto trolleys and rolling them into the truck, which is fine for an arena tour, but more often than not we are squeezing enough for a single span or two into a Sprinter on top of lots of PA gear. Interested to hear if anyone has found any other (better) solutions...
robloxley
Maybe try someone like ADDA who make very lightweight equipment cases & bags?
timmath
We have architen landrell in Chepstow make bags for all our truss, it won't stop a dent but it stops scratches and keeps it shiney. regards Tim
Pete McCrea
Use the stuff that Estate Agents for sale boards is made out of. Get enough to wrap the three sides with an overlap and use Velcro to fix it closed. I'm sure I've seen something similar somewhere else.
pritch
Use the stuff that Estate Agents for sale boards is made out of FWIW, I believe the stuff in question is called 'Correx'.
Pete McCrea
I seem to remember it being called Corrufluke in primary school. But that was a good while ago....
Stuart91
Thanks for all the replies. I'll chase up ADDA and I'll also get a quote from the tame sailmakers that we use for our speaker covers. Have had a quick google for Correx/Corrufluke and it seems quite expensive - i.e. dearer than the truss itself. Anyone know any good sources for it?
