Crash_Override
We are in need of a LX Console and a 6Pack dimmer.Console should have 24 channels, cues.We currently have 520i in our theatre, but that is to big to go out with.We have 1xADB Micropack.I'm not sure, I'm thinking going with 300 series, that we can use as backup when needed in theatre and it's abel to controle some movers and one more ADB.Or is it reasonable to buy 2x4channel dimmers, than 1x6 channel dimmers. This could mean less cables. I like the ADB because its quiet, and the fan doesn't work all the time like the Behringer's does, and also the behringer starts to flicker when you are dimming under 50%. ADB doesn't Any thoughts? Tervitades,Tarmo Consoles:Zero88ETCBehringerSGMEUROLITE Dimmers:Zero88BehringerSGMEUROLITE Those I can get from here, others I have to order in from other countries I'm starting to think that the 300 series is to expensive for us. Any Suggsestions?
jim_holg8
Hello, Strand will soon be replacing the 300 anyway, But I would recommend the ETC Express- nice desk, reasonably priced if you choose the right package, If you contact AC lighting/ Stage Electrics im sure they will be able to sort you out with a demo! Not the longest post in the world I know but every little helps ! ** laughs out loud ** J James
J Pearce
Hmm, not sure if AC lighting or Stage Electrics would do a demo in Estonia though....

Crash_Override
I think that for now I can use Behringers LC1224 ( Not sure about the name) and then buy a decent console. But the main problems are with dimmers.
paulears
I don't understand - you are talking about putting a desk with a 300-500 series opearating system up against a simple 2 preset manual desk? If you can afford a 300 then everybody who can operate the 500 can do the same on the 300. But you are talking about just a few channels of dimming - what do you NEED it to do? benweblight
the lc2412 has 24 channels, but only 12 you can operate at once, not a problem if you are programming I wouldnt say that, its simple but its not exactly a manual desk not really ideal for theatre though
Crash_Override
Yes, just a few channel because here where I live there is always problems with "power" There just isn't any for light. The thing with dimmer is that, we have one that we own, and we can hire but when we will need them their hired out. So we have to buy some extra for us and if not needed rent them out.If I could get one more 6-pack dimmer. Then I could use 24 PAR64 in our summer performance(wrong word I guess).I don't understand - you are talking about putting a desk with a 300-500 series opearating system up against a simple 2 preset manual desk?Because 300 is to expensive and we can hire the 2 preset desk. The desk we need must be easy to use, compact, must have memory.Should have 24 submasters.Don't have to be able control intelligent, but if it could it would be better. For the future. Crash_Override
But still the question remains with dimmers. Any suggsestions? A local company has made us a offer. All Zero88 stuff.Betapack2 "Plus"Alcora 12/24 Whats the differens with Alcora12/24 and Jester 12/24?
peter
The Jester is the replacement for the Alcora & Elara ranges and encompasses all the features of both desks, combined with lots of new ones (USB show storage, VGA monitor output, chases on memories and submsaters, and auxiliary controls, to name but a few). The Alcora is a discontinued product, whereas Jester is a current product and has the capability for software upgrades via USB. As for the Beta2, its a 6 channel 10 Amp per channel dimmer which accepts DMX. Depending on the model, it can have MCBs instead of fuses or can have local control faders added. The standard UK model features 2 15A sockets per channel and fuses rather than breakers. If you need any more information on any Zeor8 products, let me know.
