AndrewGrant
Hi, I am currently trying to source (for a LAMDA production) three circular continental tables which are old or dark wood. They are for a play we are doing set in 1939 located in a Parisienne Cafe. I have tried some of the big hire companies (National/A&M) however they do not have 3 identical ones. Does anybody have any ideas where I could perhaps try? This is a similar thing to what I am looking for.http://www.aglx.co.uk/untitled.jpg Thanks, Andrew
mac.calder
Well first and foremost - that image is far too large to conveniently post on a forum...... Second: Building 3 identical tables out of MDF would be relatively simple. Any half decent hardware store would be able to show you how to paint it to mirror any look you wish to obtain, be it an antique dark wood or other. You can also buy what I term to be "Craft Tables" made out of MDF which come in three pieces, two slot together to form an X shape when looked at from above, which becomes the legs, and the top afixes to the base. All in all, at a rough costing, three identical cafe sized tables would cost less than AU$60 and tables are always a useful thing to have on hand in a theatre, and they will flat pack for storage. Suzette
Have you not got 3 identical square tables that you can just fit a circular top to ......?Or have tried places like Argos or Ikea for cheap wooden tables that you can stain darker?
