Hi, I just bought 2 Roboscan 812's and would like to operate them via HogPC & DMX widget. #

I have opened them up and done the dusting etc.. but I also know about the pins and jumper, you have 2 move in order to get DMX mode. could any1 tell me what ones they have to go on, and how to pick them up in HogPC, after I have patched them. do I also need a terminator??

Regards

Alex

The 812's auto-detect the protocol they are receiving (either Martin or DMX512). There are no jumpers in the 812's to change the pin configuration like there are in the MAC 500's & 600's, you have to use a reversing cable to use DMX with them. That is wired Pin 1-1, Pin 2-3 and Pin 3-2 and yes you should use a terminator at the last fixture/device as you would with any DMX chain. The only jumper settings are to configure it between 5 & 7 channel modes.

You will also need to assign a DMX adddress using the DIP switches but if your using Hog PC I assume you have the knowledge to do this!

All information above can be found in the user manual (unsurprisingly) which can be downloaded from here.

Whilst I wholey agree with the auto detect on the 812 the Mac Series have the option of both Martin Protocol and DMX selected through the on screen menu. Pro 400 on the other hand have niether of these nor board jumpers and do require the phase reverse cable.

Build 177 of Hog2PC only comes with the 5-channel personality for the Roboscan 812.

It's named "Roboscan 812-5c"

1: Strobe

2: Colour

3: Gobo

4: Pan

5: Tilt

You are aware that the 812 only has a shutter and does not dim?

I'm not familier with 812's but I believe this creates 16bit pan and tilt

It turns on the speed control for the pan/tilt and gobo/colour channels.
