David Lee
Off the top of my head- to buyI would look at ebay for 2nd hand. Also, this kind of thing is usually hired in from companys. It seems you want to be an event organiser, do you want to get involved in storing the kit and looking after it all (PAT testing, cleaning and prepping etc.) Usually for corporate affairs there should be enough in the budget to hire the kit in. Companies such as spaceworks etc do furniture for the ones Ive worked on(They may supply domestic lanternsas well). They deliver and collect as well which is a bonus. Other alternative- cheap new ones from the DIY places or Ikea.
Jivemaster
The style of the hardware says so much, for or against you. Clean lines of Swedish/Ikea or the victoriana of some Asian stuff The Asian interest lighting shops near me (E6/7/12) are full of candelabra. Search movie prop hire for some more ideas of styles. www.amhire.com are just one firm, but they do have a searchable www.
corporatelady
Many thanks, It makes more sense for me to purchase them until of hiring. It is a small prop that can enhance an event. I am not looking to hire them out, my clients may choose to hire them from me, but they will not be hired out to other companies or people, that is too much paperwork for little profit.Kind regardsSam
